"Truth"

Stepping Out in RED Shoes!
- Day 94 -

"You can't handle the truth!"

The devil would love for you to believe that you can't handle the truth, but that's a lie!  You, dear one,  are more than capable of handling the truth.  But do you really want to know the truth?  Are you willing to turn your attention toward God and allow Him to show you Truth?

Perhaps you're wondering... "What's God got to do with it?"   Well... everything.  Jesus said,

"I am the way, the truth, and the life;
no one comes to the Father except through me."
John 14:6

He said He was The Truth.

A dear friend of mine is going through a total life transformation.  About a year or so ago, she sat in a "Divine Discovery"  class that I was facilitating, searching for answers.  Within ten weeks she gave her heart to Christ.  Ever since, God has been doing a major overhaul in her life.  Gently... but major, all the same.

My sister's soul was crying out for Truth!

When we go through Divine Transformation, God unwinds us of ourselves, our erroneous beliefs, our religiosity, our past hurts, our fears -- all the things that contribute to an inadequate picture of who He really is.  You see, He wants you to know The Truth.  He wants you to know Him.  Notice that I said GOD unwinds us.  I'm not talking about people telling you how you must act now that you're a Christian.

Knowing God isn't a 10-week religion class
of DOs and DON'Ts.
If you really want to know Him --
If you really want to know Truth --
It's a lifelong journey of Divine Discovery.

Funny thing is... as you draw near to Him -- to take a closer look -- He draws near to you.  (James 4:8) That's when it starts...  The Transformation.  You see,  it's impossible not to change in His presence.  Some things just melt away.  Other things... well,  I've personally found myself so convicted that I've found myself crying out, "Change me, Lord!  Please!  Change me!"  Still, there are yet other things.  Things that I don't know that I don't know.  I can't plan those changes -- I don't even know what they are.   That said,   I just have to put myself in God's hands and trust Him.

Today, I listened to a song entitled
"Here in Your Presence" by New Life Worship.

"Here in your presence we are undone.
Here in your presence, heaven and earth become one.
Here in your presence, all things are new.
Here in your presence, everything bows before You."

Every time I see my friend, these days, she is undone.  God is unwrapping her.  With great care, He's taking her whole life apart,  removing the stuff that's not so good, and replacing it with things like Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness... Truth.   She smiles a lot.  Her countenance glows.  She's discovering a personal relationship with Christ that's beyond measure!  What's her secret?

  • She's given herself completely to knowing Him.
  • She continually makes herself available to Him.
  • Nothing gets in the way of her Divine Discovery.

As I step out in my RED shoes each day,
I find myself on that same journey
just a little further down the road.
