SATURDAY: Taking Down Depression with Prayer!

Stepping Out in RED Shoes!
 - Day 106 -

Don't fool yourself!  It's not sugar...
it's a demon spirit and it's got to go!

Ok, I'm not here to trivialize DEPRESSION.  There was a time in which I suffered severely with it, myself.  It's very real, very scary and dark -- to say the least.  A significant portion of my first book, The Yellow Brick Road:  A Woman's Journey to the Edge and Back talks about it.  If you've read that book, you know that I'm a big advocate of professional Christian counseling.  When one has been pushed to their limit and beyond, there are often issues that need to be worked out.  Often, God does not wave a magic wand and "presto!"  all is well.  On the other hand... the world of psychiatry and anti-depressants is not without it's challenges.  (You'll find that out in the book as well).

When it comes to your mind, don't take shortcuts!  This is not the time or place to cut corners.  You may need a profession team consisting of a good doctor, counselor, and friend.  Let's not forget, however, that God has been given 5 STARS in all 3 categories!  He is...

The Great Physician
The Wonderful Counselor
The Friend that sticks closer than a brother.

Even still... there is much to be said about a powerful prayer of deliverance from depression.  It would be foolish not to take into consideration the fact that we war against principalities and powers of darkness.  John 10:10 says,  "The thief comes to steal, kill and destroy..."  And one of the ways he does that is through depression.

Depression will rob you of your life!

All that said,  my advice is to get in the prayer line and receive anointed prayer for deliverance whenever you sense a heavy spirit of anxiety, depression, and/or mental torment.  Often,  exactly what you need is for someone to bind that demonic spirit in Jesus' Mighty Name and release the joy of the LORD and the peace of God upon you!

You don't have to live bound in depression.
There's HOPE for you.

Jump in today's prayer line if you're suffering.  Whether you need one powerful prayer or the combined efforts of a healing team that includes doctors and counselors... God can and will bring about healing to those who ask Him for it.  His desire is for each and every one of us to live full, healthy and whole lives -- to the glory of God!

In RED shoes,
Gail
