"Parking Lot Prayer"

Stepping Out in RED Shoes!
 - Day 91 -

I'll have a Grande Chai Tea Latte -- iced
and a healing on the side!

Late this afternoon, I met up with three ministry friends of mine for a chai and a chat.  It was a beautiful afternoon, so we sat at a table outside and enjoyed the cool breeze.  Instead of feasting on cake pops or lemon pound cake,  we went around the table testifying of what God has been doing in our lives. With each story, we fed our spirit man -- strengthening one another with Godly encouragement.

After a while, two of my friends had to leave, but Kea and I stuck around for quite some time, pouring out to one another story after story of God's goodness.  Of course I couldn't resist testifying of how God recently healed my shoulder at last week's prayer meeting.  (See Day 87 - He Showed! )  Little did I know that God was using all those stories to stir up my friend's faith.

Time flew by, and the afternoon soon turned to evening.  We packed up our stuff, said our goodbyes, and headed out the door to our cars.

"Wait a minute!" Kea said, as she walked back to my car.
"Would you mind praying for my shoulder?  It's very painful.
Since God healed your shoulder, maybe He'll use you to heal mine."

"Uhhhh... okay."  I responded.

I looked around me -- there we were standing in the Starbucks parking lot, right near the front door.

I put my things in my car,
turned towards her,
laid my hand on her shoulder,
and, with sincerity, prayed the simplest,
no hype, parking lot prayer I could come up with.

Basically...  "Heal my friend, Lord, in the Name of Jesus!"

Upon completion, I turned to go to my car and Kea shouted to me...
"Oh my gosh... I've been healed!  I'm serious, Gail.  Look!  I've been healed!
God's never healed me instantly before.  Praise the Lord!"

As I turned towards her, there she was moving her arm up and down, rotating her shoulder round and round.  "Look!  No pain!  It's gone!"  she shouted with a smile.

Isaiah 53:5 says...

"But He was pierced for our transgressions,
He was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was upon Him,
and by His wounds, we are healed."

Today, I stepped into Starbucks wearing my RED shoes,
never expecting God to instantly heal my girlfriend's shoulder.
God is Good!   Thank you LORD!

Gail
