"Hurt"

Stepping Out in RED Shoes!
- Day 94 -

HURT is a door of access
that the enemy frequently uses.

Today, the Lord reminded me of something that He's told me before:

"There's always a reason why people
are the way they are, and it's usually because
they've been hurt -- wounded -- pierced, unjustly!"

One of the most common doors of access the enemy uses to get into a person's life is:  HURT.   I know that's no surprise to you.  When you're down and out -- and we've all been there -- you're vulnerable for attack.  That said... Hebrews 4:15 is a divine comfort to us all.

"For we do not have a high priest who is
unable to sympathize with our weaknesses,
but we have one who has been tempted in
every way, just as we are -- yet was without sin."

Yes... you may have been wounded unjustly, but so was Christ.

Isaiah 53:5 says...

"But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon Him and by His wounds we are healed."

Not only that... but it was US -- you and me -- that wounded Him.

Even still, He tells us...  It's okay, COME!

"Come unto Me, all you who are weary
and burdened and I will give you rest."
Matthew 11:28

He grants us access to Him!

"Let us then approach the throne of grace
with confidence, so that we may receive mercy
and find grace to help us in our time of need"
Hebrews 4:16

Today I'm rejoicing in the fact that:

  • I have a God that understands.
  • I have a God that's approachable.
  • I have a God that loves me.

The enemy wants access to us through HURT, but God has given us access to Himself -- for healing -- through His Hurt!   Let's choose that door!

In RED shoes,
Gail
