Stepping Out in RED Shoes!
- Day 68 -
He's a detailed God!
It's that time of year again when we set our clocks ahead one hour. That means I lost a full sixty minutes of sleep last night. No matter -- I was still up bright and early this morning, out the door in my RED shoes, and headed to The Harvest to look for God. When I arrived, I worshipped my heart out before Him and He was faithful to speak to me before I left.
Isn't that what's supposed to happen at church?
Isn't Sunday service supposed to be the time when all God's people come together to praise Him and hear what He has to say?
How sad that some people spend years in a building every Sunday, standing up and sitting down -- doing this and not doing that -- shaking hands because they have to, only to leave, never having told God how awesome He is, and never having heard what God had to say.
Today at church, the pastor delivered a detailed message on Vision for the Church. It came complete with 5 points.
- Deep enough to be routed in history.
- Defined enough to reproduce itself in a picture.
- Durable enough to resist discouragement.
- Demanding enough to require sacrifice.
- Dynamic enough to recruit others to its task.
It's amazes me when the minister preaches an elaborately, detailed message that almost overwhelms me, yet low and behold -- there at the very center of it all -- sits a specific Word from God, just for me. How does God do that?
A technical schematic is a detailed diagram of an electronic circuit.
I love that definition because the vision God has given me, cannot come to pass without the power of the Holy Spirit. Like an electrical diagram, God's Spirit is interwoven throughout His plan, with specifications and timing down to the minutest degree. Divine Details!
I'm sure that many appreciated the pastor's message for what it was... a great word to the Church about Vision. But as I've said many times before, the anointing has a way of turning a message into a 3 dimensional diagram.
When God decides to speak to you,
BOOM! Out it pops! You can't miss it.
The pastor kept saying, "Stay with me! I'm going some place with this!" Little did he know that God was filling in all the details for me as he spoke. He overlaid my vision on top of the pastor's message and showed me how it met every point. It was a divine confirmation that solidified my faith in knowing that God was still interested in moving forward with what He has shown me.
"Gail," the Lord said, "Don't give up! I will bring to pass that vision.
- It's a vision that impacts lives for Christ.
- It's a vision that I've shown you in great detail.
- It's a vision that some people may not understand.
- It's a vision that has required great sacrifice.
- It's a vision that involves others.
"Pray it through to completion!"
said the Lord.
Today I realized that I'm not just stepping out my front door in RED shoes,
I'm stepping forward in the vision God has given me, trusting He will complete it!
