Stepping Out in RED Shoes!
- Day 63 -
Last night -- just as I reached over to shut off the light -- I heard God whisper... "Don't forget to set your alarm a half hour earlier, so that you can start the day off with Me!"
Tuesdays are early mornings for me. I have to get up, dressed and out the door, for Pre-Bonfire prayer and set up. I was grateful for the reminder. God's serious about this! He wants me in the prayer closet first thing, every morning, every day! I'm going for it!
Of course I wanted to hit snooze, roll over and sleep longer. 7 a.m. came around way too fast! But -- I didn't. I chatted with the Lord for a few minutes, then hopped out of bed, washed my face, and sat down to worship and prayer. It wasn't long -- but I accomplished what I set out to do. What was really great was that our conversation continued as I got myself ready and out the door.
Pre-Bonfire prayer was not the same as usual. Three of us gathered ourselves in a huddle -- our arms interlocking over each other's backs -- and we prayed it out in unity! When we were done, an old chorus popped into my head, so I began to sing it out and the others joined me. There we were, singing, clapping, and even dancing!
"What a mighty God we serve!
What a mighty God we serve!
Angels bow before Him.
Heaven and earth adore Him.
What a mighty God we serve!"
Out it comes:
"Praise you Jesus!
Glory to God!
Glory... Glory... Glory to God!"
I just can't stop praising Him. It's like my own personal moment before the King in which I get to tell Him how much I love Him! Okay... I know that sounds a little strange, that's because it is a little strange.
I'm not just repeating "Praise you Jesus!"
It's so much more than that.
It's a super-natural, Holy Ghost excitement for God!
By the time the ladies began to arrive for the morning meeting, I had pulled myself together, although divine electricity was still moving through me. Little did I know that was just a precurser for what was about to take place.
Today, thirty women were in attendance. Before starting our teaching, we all gathered around for two songs. We closed our eyes, lifted our hands in the air and worshipped along with the music. Everything else was put aside. We made it a point to cast our cares upon the Lord, and welcomed the Holy Spirit to move amongst us.
At the conclusion of our songs, once again, that old chorus popped in my mind: "What a mighty God we serve!" I simply couldn't hold back. As I sang it out, everyone joined in and began to clap along in unity. We sang it through, together, three times. Then it happened...
For at least five or six minutes those thirty women let loose unreserved praises, shouts of joy, claps of victory and countless accolades to God!
The glory cloud descended and filled the room. The roar weaned itself to a heavenly hush, as people sat in His presence, speechless. All honor had been given to Him. There was nothing else to say. Eyes were closed. Heads were bowed. A few quiet tears hit the carpet.
What do you compare that to?
Stepping out in RED shoes to "The Bonfire" every Tuesday, is definitely not to be missed!
But I can't help but think that maybe... just maybe it all started at 7 a.m. when I chose to get out of bed early and position God at the forefront of my day. Is this the result of the new yoke? (see Day 62) Perhaps!
