How important is it?

 Stepping Out in RED Shoes!
- Day 156 -

It’s worth saying it another way!

Today I want to re-emphasize the need for capturing those
who keep falling through the cracks.

Have you ever had a leaky faucet
or a toilet that kept running?

Drip.  Drip.  Drip.
What’s the big deal?
It’s just a drip.  Right?

One time I came home from visiting friends over the weekend and my oldest daughter was fixing the toilet.   That was an interesting  sight.  She had bought some sort of device from Home Depot, had shut all the water in the house off,  and was attempting to install it in the tank.  Apparently something small had broken off and the toilet was running all weekend.  I didn’t think much of it until I got my water bill.  It was a whopping $200 more than usual.  Yikes!

That story got me to thinking about all the individuals that fall through the cracks when it comes to connecting with God.  If we were to collect them all -- all those who never quite got a secure connection --  I wonder how many we would have?

Millions perhaps?

How do we stop that from happening?  How to we seal the cracks?  Isn’t it getting way too expensive to let them fall through?   What’s the cost of a soul doomed to hell?   Christ died for each and every one of them.  He doesn’t want one – not one – to perish!

“For God so loved the world that He gave
His one and only Son, that  whoever believes
in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
John 3:16

One night I was teaching a Bible study when someone stated…
“What’s the big deal?  Christ died for everybody, so we’re all saved!”

“Oh Christ died for everybody,”  I responded,
“But people have to believe and receive the gift of salvation.
It’s sitting right there in front of them,
but they have to pick it up and claim it for themselves.
They have to own it and walk away with it!”

There’s always going to be people who say “NO!  I’m not interested.”   But don’t be discouraged.  And don’t be fooled.  There’s a lot of people who are interested and just want some instruction.  If you listen carefully in the Spirit, you can hear them calling out…

“Can someone just introduce me to God?
Can someone please tell me how I get my free gift?”

Let’s be open this summer for opportunities to connect people to God, so that they can own their salvation and walk away with it!

In RED shoes,

Gail
