"Waiting"

On this 7th Day of 2014,  I stepped out in my RED shoes
and headed to our first Bonfire meeting of the new year!

The Bonfire is a meeting where Christians come together to warm themselves in worship, God's Word and wonderful prayer.  What I love about this group is that there's a strong emphasis on being lead by the Holy Spirit.  That means we pray and ask God to set our agenda, come prepared to deliver, and give the Spirit of God lots of room to say and do whatever He desires!

Watch out!
People have been known to catch on fire for God!

Just so you know, there are several things that I am continuing to do in this new year.  I'm still wearing my RED shoes every day, looking for God and writing my blog.  I'm still spending much time in the prayer closet.   Tuesdays are Bonfire days -- although now we're adding a Bonfire meeting on Thursday evenings.  I'm still prayer walking in my neighborhood.  And one Friday evening a month, I'm with my good friend's The Marinos, doing a home Bible study - fellowship in Bradenton.

I'm expecting some new doors to open as well.  What they are specifically, I don't know yet.  I'm waiting on the Lord for His Divine Direction.
That sounds so easy
-- "Waiting on the Lord" --
but it can be quite challenging.

"...Those who wait for the LORD will gain new strength.
They will mount up with wings like eagles.
They will run and not get tired.
They will walk and not become weary.
Isaiah 40:31 NAS

God has given me a very special grace to do what I'm doing.  I don't take that for granted.  I'm not sure how long I get to live like this, so I'm doing my best to stay in the moment and enjoy it to it's fullest.  One day, God may change directions, and this season will be over.  If and when that happens, I want to know I got everything God intended me to, from this special time in my life!

Tonight, before blogging, I spent some quiet time before the Lord.  While I was sitting on the couch praying, I could feel the hand of the Lord upon my right shoulder.  Has that ever happened to you?  It's so comforting.

It's as if Jesus is right behind me whispering,
"No worries, Gail, I'm right here!"

That is such a special thing for me -- sensing God's hand on my shoulder like that.  I can still remember the first time that happened to me.  I was brand new in the Lord -- 23 years of age -- driving my little RED Subaru down Blackstone Boulevard in Providence Rhode Island, heading to work.

"Jesus -- Are you still with me?"
 I shouted as I drove.

With that, I physically felt the weight of his hand gently rest itself on my shoulder.

 "I'm right here!"
  He responded.

God was so real!  It wasn't unusual for the Spirit of God to fill my car and for me to sing choruses and converse with Jesus all the way work and all the way home.   Hmmm.  I guess some things never change!

In RED shoes,
Gail
