Stepping Out in RED Shoes!
- Day 138 -
Step 2:
Divine Partnership!
At the evening Bonfire last night, one of the things we discussed was The Anointing. You don't have to be "perfect" when you work with God. In fact, He prefers it when you're not. That way, He gets all the glory.
When we operate in perfection,
we're applauded for our great talent.
People sometimes mistake God's Work as ours.
People sometimes mistake God's Work as ours.
But when it's evident that we're not so talented
and God moves -- He gets all the glory!
Please don't misunderstand. I'm not saying that we should haphazardly throw things together in disarray and present it as an offering to God. Of course not! God deserves our very best!
God's not as interested as you think,
however, in what you can do FOR Him.
He's much more excited about
what you can do WITH Him!
Not only that... (and this is important)
He likes to LEAD!
Ahh! Already I can see why Step 1 - Submission to Authority was so important.
Step 2 is Submission to God and
Operating in Divine Partnership.
Can you go with the flow?
Can you follow Him? Will you let Him lead?
Can you take divine instruction and follow through?
Do you trust and believe in God's Leadership enough
so that you're willing to put your own reputation on the line?

so that you're willing to put your own reputation on the line?
"Don't over-prepare!" He says.
"Let me lead! I've got something
specific I want to accomplish!"
When we over-prepare, we tend to promote our own version of God's agenda. We take control of the situation, and God has no room to move.
Without realizing it,
we've asked Him to work with us,
instead of us working with Him.
There's a difference: It's who's leading!
I once heard Bennie Hinn talk about Divine Partnership. Basically he said he always had something prepared for a meeting. More often than not, he never used it. God would always show up and say "follow me" and he did his best to do just that!
At last night's Bonfire, we talked about how God has this way of taking a message and making it three dimensional. That means He uses whatever you say and do (no matter how inadequate you think your presentation is) and He touches the hearts of individuals in the most personal way imaginable. People respond, "Oh my gosh... How did you know that about me?" or "God spoke directly to me!" and not only that... He does that with just about everybody in the room!
That's one of the many benefits of working in partnership with God. It's not as easy as it sounds though. It takes a lot of practice, but it's worth it! There's nothing that compares to working with God!
Today at the high school, Bonnie painted and I spoke. We both just went with the flow. We prayed in advance, had an idea of where God was going and we worked together with one another and with Him. That entire auditorium was still as we ministered God's message to them. We have no doubts that God penetrated their hearts and lives with His love. We left, confident that God had accomplished what He desired.
Stepping up to Step 2 in my RED shoes, I'm reminded that it's an honor and a privilege to walk, to talk and to work with God. It's a partnership that's extensive and it's all about relationship.
Lord God, we come to You in Jesus' Mighty Name and ask that You would bring about a Divine Partnership in all our lives, for Your glory, that souls might be saved! Amen.
