"His Time, Not Mine!"

Stepping Out in RED Shoes!
- Day 40 -

God... When are you going to do that?

I don't know about you, but there have been many occasions in which I've asked God,

"When?"

Today I found His answer in Galatians 1:15-16.

"But when God, who set me apart from birth
and called me by his grace was pleased
to reveal his Son in me so that I might preach
Him among the Gentiles..."

Let's break down what Paul says...

When God  --   was pleased...   He revealed His Son in me.
(translated)
When God decided the time was right...
When God was ready...
He revealed His Son in me.

      God does things when He's ready!
Not a minute sooner, not a minute later.
I don't think we influence
His timing at all.  Do you?
Why would we?
His timing is already perfect!

Perfect = without flaw

 Paul notes that God had a plan before he was even born.

"God set me apart   --  from birth  --   and called me..."
(translated)
Before I was born, God already had a specific course of action for me...
Before I was born, God knew the details of my life...

Scripture doesn't limit this to Paul.

Isaiah 49:1 says
"...Before I was born the LORD called me;
from my birth he has made mention of my name."

Jeremiah 1:5 says
"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,
before you were born I set you apart;
I appointed you as a prophet to the nations."

I find  "God's Timing"  amazing!  Galatians, Chapter 1,  has opened my eyes to the idea that  God follows a Divine Script of sorts -- an Ultimate Plan.  He chose the exact moment in which he would reveal His Son to Saul (soon to be the Apostle Paul)  on the Road to Damascus.  Why He didn't do it in Jerusalem or some other place or sooner than He did, we may never know.   But it was according to His  plan, all the same.

That said, I trust that He'll do things
according to His Plan for my life as
well.  Everything is timed exactly.
He's taken all things into account.
There will be no surprises for Him.
He's got my script in hand and He's
sticking to it!

Years ago a friend of mine worked for a very prestigious organization.  She was in charge of running a rather large public event.  I was amazed that everything was timed and scripted down to the minutest detail.  When I questioned her about it, she told me that was why their events were close to flawless!  Hmmm.  Just something to think about.

Sometimes when I think about the events in my life, I get anxious.  I want things to happen in my timing - when I want them to!   Thank God He sticks to His script!  because my timing is anything but perfect.  I'd be winging this and winging that!  My goodness, what a mess it would be!

Okay... I'm learning!  I'm learning!

I'm learning to kick my RED shoes
up on the coffee table, sit back,
relax more and trust in His perfect timing!

He's the One who's got it all together, not me.
