Stepping Out in RED Shoes!
- Day 39 -
Are we there yet?
As I travel this Yellow Brick Road of Life, often my focus is on the major destinations -- getting to the Emerald City -- getting to the Witch's Castle -- getting Home to Kansas! You get the idea. After all, I am headed somewhere, right? Sometimes I need to remind myself of that. -- I'm believing God will bring to pass those visions and callings He's given me. He's always confirming and reassuring me:
"Don't worry, Gail!
You won't be disappointed!"
My spiritual mama tells me to keep praying.
She says all things happen in His perfect timing!
Meanwhile, I cant forget to focus on the day to day things that God is doing. One of the things that I totally love about The Red Shoe Project is that I can go back and look at all the things God said and did day after day after day. I've documented them!
It may take a year or 5 years or
even 25 years to reach the big goals,
but the fact is, God is doing big things
right here and now -- everyday!
Years ago, a dear friend told me something very important. He reminded me that although Jesus' main objective was to die on the cross for our sins, He still worked great miracles day to day. He healed the lepers! He delivered the demon-possessed! He raised Lazarus from the dead! All of those day to day events were huge, in and of themselves.
My friend's concern was that
I'd miss all the good stuff today,
in my anticipation of what was
to come tomorrow!
There's another thing that needs to be mentioned here. I'll never forget something I saw in a documentary on near death experiences. Surely you've heard many say that when we stand before God our life will flash before our eyes. One woman experienced just that and was dumbfounded over the fact that all the big things that she thought were so important, turned out to be miniscule. The big outreaches, prayer meetings and events were barely recognizable! Instead, God's focal points of her life were all the little smiles, encouraging words and special touches she bestowed on other people.
I can do that!
You can do that, too!
You see... Stepping Out in RED Shoes
doesn't have to be all that complicated!
Gail
