It's the 1st Day of a New Year and once again I'm Stepping Out in Red Shoes!
Psalm 37:23 (NIV) says...
"The LORD makes firm the steps
of the one who delights in Him."
What a great verse of scripture! It's so personal and assuring. I truly love the LORD with all my heart and I am delighted to continue walking with Him on this life-journey. No offense to any of you, but He's my favorite traveling companion. - GOD - Who doesn't want to walk with God? I choose Him!
Remember the days of elementary school when the teacher chose two captains and they picked their teams for kickball? That first choice was always a biggie. Who would it be? Usually it was the person that could kick the ball the farthest and score the most runs. On this journey called "LIFE," I want my #1 companion to be...
* The friend that sticks closer than a brother. (Proverbs 18:24)
* The one who is able to do immeasurably more than all I could ask or even imagine. ( Ephesians 3:21)
* Someone who will never leave me or forsake me! (Hebrews 13:5)
Truth be told, scripture informs me that I'm not the "picker." It's God that chose me to be on His team.
"You did not choose me,
but I chose you and appointed you
so that you might go and bear fruit..."
John 15:16
Funny... I'm not much of a kicker, let alone someone who scores runs. He knows that, yet He still chose me. I'm just blessed knowing that I'm on the winning team! And it is a team, isn't it? It's you and me and so many others.
How is it that He is able to make us all feel
like we're His #1 choice?
It's a God-thing!
I don't know about you, but I'm determined to give my all for the Glory of God! I expect you will too. I can't do it all myself. I don't have your gifts, I only have my own. Sure... I might be the one that wears the RED shoes, but what's your role in the game? Don't sit on the sidelines too long thinking about it. We need you! You're an important part, you know.
Don't delay because you don't know it all! I don't know it all, by any means, but I try hard and I'm learning all the time. I find assurance in the fact that "He makes firm my steps." The Holy Spirit is continually teaching me, guiding me, directing me, instructing me and situating me when my steps aren't quite right. That means He corrects my footing when necessary. He pulls me over this way or that if I start to get off track. That's because He has a plan. It's a winning plan!
With that in mind, I've submitted myself to His Divine Leadership. What about you? Are you coming along? You are welcome to join us. We want you on the team!
In RED shoes,
Gail
