Commissioned

Stepping Out in RED Shoes!
- Day 108 -

An Official Charge to Step Forth
into God's Divine Destiny!

Remember The Wizard of Oz?  Shortly after Dorothy's arrival in Munchkin Land, Glinda, the Witch of the North, fitted Dorothy with her most powerful weapon -- The Ruby Slippers -- then sent her off on the journey of a life time.  Off she headed to the Emerald City looking for The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.  And just how does she get there?  Glinda, along with the munchkins instructed her to "Follow the Yellow Brick Road."

Every day I meet Christians who don't have a clue about what they're supposed to be doing for Christ.  They want to serve Him, but days, weeks, months and even years go by, while they think about how they'll do that.  In Matthew's gospel, Jesus tells us what we're supposed to do:

"Then Jesus came to them and said,
'All authority in heaven and on earth
has been given to me.  Therefore go
and make disciples of all nations,
baptizing them in the name of the
Father and of the Son and of the
Holy Spirit, and teaching them obey
everything I have commanded you.
And surely I am with you always,
to the very end of the age.'"
Matthew 28:18-20

It frustrates me, at times, that so many Christians want to push aside The Great Commission stating,  "That's just for the twelve disciples"  or  "Not everyone's a Billy Graham."

Maybe everyone isn't called to have
a worldwide evangelistic society,
but can everyone at least try to win 1?

Last night, my friend Tammy invited me to help her with a Commissioning Service she was having for her ministry team.  One by one they stepped up onto the platform where I anointed them with oil in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.  Then, Tammy took a beautiful, jeweled sword and rested it on their left shoulder, prophesied over them individually, and touching their right shoulder with the sword, commissioned them as Warrior Brides to do the work of the Lord as God instructs them.

Over fifty women were powerfully moved, as the anointing of God came upon them.  Their eyes filled with tears, their lips quivered, their spirits soared.  They left the platform eager to fulfill the call of God on their lives.

I was excited to learn that all of these women are active in the Army of God, serving in various capacities.  Some are part of the prayer team, fasting and praying for speakers and events.  Some are part of the ministry team, praying for individuals, at the altar, for salvation, healing, deliverance and provision.  Some visit the sick.  Some help with the administration of events.  Some help in the kitchen. The list goes on and on.
As a team, they fulfill The Great Commission,
winning the lost to Christ.

I want to encourage all my brothers and sisters today to get about the Father's Business.  Get on The Yellow Brick Road and start your journey!  You are never too young or too old to be part of God's Army -- winning the lost to Christ!  Whether you're passing out tracks, sharing your testimony, offering up prayers, or assisting those who are.  God's enlisting You!

Gail

Order is Important.

Stepping Out in RED Shoes!
- Day 107 -

God First!

Today was an "in your face" learning experience of one of God's most basic lessons:

God MUST be FIRST on your list of Things To Do.

As I opened my eyes early this morning, I could feel the weight of the world lowering itself on my chest.  It was as if an elephant decided to sit on top of me.  Ugh!  My facebook feed was ringing that a new entry had just come through, so I reached over to take a look.  As I scrolled through the feed, I caught a glimpse of an interesting tag line:   "Motivational Monday."

I needed a little motivation.  Right now, I was leaning in the direction of pulling the covers up over my head and refusing to face the world.  Surely, this article would help.  NOT!  It was a nice enough article listing 12 things to do to live happy -- BUT I noticed something wasn't quite right.  Where was God?  Way down at  # 11 the article listed "Practice Spirituality."  Yeah -- this secular article on happiness wasn't going to work for me.

I jumped out of bed and headed for the shower.  Maybe I could shower off this heaviness and move on with my day.  I had people to call, plans to make, work to be done.  Already, I was texting.  I got out of the shower, dried off and dressed, blew dry my hair and now I stood, in front of the mirror, ready to apply my make up.

 TUG -- TUG -- TUG  --
 It was happening...
The LORD was calling to me!

"Woe!  Stop what you're doing, Gail,
and come spend a moment with Me."

His voice was so loud, I stopped everything, found a seat, closed my eyes, bowed my head, and, within seconds,  there I was... in His Presence.

"It's only Monday morning, Gail,
and already you're giving up!"
He said.

I hate to admit it, but He was right!

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened,
and I will give you rest."
Matthew 11:28

Suddenly I remembered something I had learned several years ago while traveling around the country studying with some of the best business professionals.

ORDER is Important!

You can know all the right steps -- and even do them -- but if you don't do
them in the correct order, they don't work the way they are supposed to.

Right here in the prayer closet, God was reminding me that
HE MUST BE FIRST ON MY LIST, EACH AND EVERY MORNING,
in order for everything else to work out as it should.

Was God giving me a Divine Adjustment?  As I sat there in His Presence, I listened closely as The God of Heaven spoke some important truths into my life.  He pushed my agenda aside and penciled in His agenda.

"This is what I want you to do today,"
He said.

Before long, I came out of the prayer closet, transformed by His grace, with a new attitude and a new perspective.  My burden had, in fact, been lifted.  My spirit was lighter.  My countenance was glowing!

Hearing God speak directly to you will do that!

Dearest of friends, Rubies, brothers and sisters in Christ -- Will you not consider stopping right now with what you are doing and coming unto the LORD for instruction?

Stepping Out in RED shoes means stepping into the prayer closet FIRST -- each and every day -- for a Divine Adjustment by the Greatest of Spiritual Chiropractors --  Jesus, Himself.  Amen.

SATURDAY: Praying Now...

Stepping Out in RED Shoes!
- Day 106 -

God has a BETTER plan.
This is NOT it!

In JESUS' Mighty Name...  We curse DEPRESSION!
We come against those demonic strongholds and proclaim  the PEACE OF GOD over each person! Let there be a RELEASE in the Spirit Realm - a BREAKING of all demonic entanglements.  We call forth  FREEDOM from tormenting spirits in JESUS' Name!

Satan... We command you to LET GO  of your grip
on people's minds!

Holy Spirit, pour out the PEACE OF GOD upon each individual mentioned.  Whisper Words of HOPE right now into their hearts.

DISCOURAGEMENT and DESPAIR -- BE GONE!  in JESUS Name!

SUICIDAL THOUGHTS - We curse you! in JESUS' NAME!

Those who are  CUTTING  themselves...
In JESUS NAME, We command those abusive spirits to  STOP right now!
We pray for a personal encounter with The Living God.  May your love for them, LORD, saturate their very being, in JESUS' Name.

To those of you who are STARVING yourselves or BINGE EATING...
We render those demonic influences powerless in JESUS Mighty Name!
We pray for the routine of normal and healthy eating to come back.

We bind those spirits of DESPAIR and DECEIT.... those LYING spirits that DISTORT TRUTH.  In JESUS' Name we come against them, proclaiming the BLOOD OF JESUS over our loved ones.  BE GONE! in JESUS Name!

Let the LOVE AND PEACE OF FATHER GOD come upon you right now.
May God grant you a Holy Ghost encounter with The Living God.
May you receive a TRUE, ACCURATE and POWERFUL REVELATION of God's LOVE for You!

LORD... Hear the prayers of those crying out to You from the depths of their souls!
FREE THEM of their PAIN!

Bring HOPE and ENCOURAGEMENT to them,  FULL DELIVERANCE in JESUS' Name!
Bring loving support and assistance to them -- people that can help.
Put them on a NEW PATH to HEALING and WHOLENESS,  in JESUS NAME!

Amen.

SATURDAY: Taking Down Depression with Prayer!

Stepping Out in RED Shoes!
 - Day 106 -

Don't fool yourself!  It's not sugar...
it's a demon spirit and it's got to go!

Ok, I'm not here to trivialize DEPRESSION.  There was a time in which I suffered severely with it, myself.  It's very real, very scary and dark -- to say the least.  A significant portion of my first book, The Yellow Brick Road:  A Woman's Journey to the Edge and Back talks about it.  If you've read that book, you know that I'm a big advocate of professional Christian counseling.  When one has been pushed to their limit and beyond, there are often issues that need to be worked out.  Often, God does not wave a magic wand and "presto!"  all is well.  On the other hand... the world of psychiatry and anti-depressants is not without it's challenges.  (You'll find that out in the book as well).

When it comes to your mind, don't take shortcuts!  This is not the time or place to cut corners.  You may need a profession team consisting of a good doctor, counselor, and friend.  Let's not forget, however, that God has been given 5 STARS in all 3 categories!  He is...

The Great Physician
The Wonderful Counselor
The Friend that sticks closer than a brother.

Even still... there is much to be said about a powerful prayer of deliverance from depression.  It would be foolish not to take into consideration the fact that we war against principalities and powers of darkness.  John 10:10 says,  "The thief comes to steal, kill and destroy..."  And one of the ways he does that is through depression.

Depression will rob you of your life!

All that said,  my advice is to get in the prayer line and receive anointed prayer for deliverance whenever you sense a heavy spirit of anxiety, depression, and/or mental torment.  Often,  exactly what you need is for someone to bind that demonic spirit in Jesus' Mighty Name and release the joy of the LORD and the peace of God upon you!

You don't have to live bound in depression.
There's HOPE for you.

Jump in today's prayer line if you're suffering.  Whether you need one powerful prayer or the combined efforts of a healing team that includes doctors and counselors... God can and will bring about healing to those who ask Him for it.  His desire is for each and every one of us to live full, healthy and whole lives -- to the glory of God!

In RED shoes,
Gail

FRIDAY: Praying for our Adult Kids.

Stepping Out in RED Shoes
- Day 105 -

They're Never Too Old for Prayer!

Once the kids are grown, up and out of the house, it's not over.  Some would say that's when the real prayer begins.  I know that many of you are frustrated that your children are not living for Christ with passion.  Let's bring them before the altar of God right now.

Father God, in the Name of Jesus... we bring our children before you.  Lord, we proclaim  SALVATION over their lives.  We have dedicated them to You, and we wait and pray -- wait and pray -- wait and pray for the fullness of that manifestation to become evident in their lives.

Do whatever it takes, LORD, to get a hold of them.  We pray that their hearts would be SOLD OUT to You and to You alone.  We pray they would live a full, passionate life with You -- and for You.  May their lives be reflective of an amazing relationship with The Living God!

We get on our knees and battle against the Kingdom of Darkness for our children's souls!  We tear down worldly mindsets.  In Jesus Name we rip away the deceptions, distractions and distortions of the enemy.  We bind the demonic influences that want to woo them in an ungodly and dark direction.  We curse those things that want to consume them!  IN JESUS' NAME!  "You will not win, devil!  This praying mom is sinking her feet into the prayer closet and praying on her children's  behalf.!

"As for me and my house, we shall serve the LORD!"

We cry out: "VICTORY" over their lives!
We call out:   "PASSION FOR CHRIST"  over them.

Bring them around LORD.

We pray the The Holy Ghost would cover them, hover over them, surround them, and grab a hold of their hearts with the LOVE of Jesus Christ -- so much so that they are compelled to LET GO of the World and turn to Christ, fully, whole-heartedly, and with zeal.  May they have a non-compromising attitude.  ALL FOR JESUS!

We're tired of sitting back and hoping for the best, LORD.  We take a hold of the horns of the altar and continually bring their names before You!  We BELIEVE!  We BELIEVE!

We BELIEVE YOU HAVE A PLAN FOR THEM!

Create, Oh LORD, a hunger in their hearts for You and Your Word.  We pray that they'd want nothing more than to be found in Your PRESENCE.  We BELIEVE that You will woo them into a POWERFULLY DYNAMIC, NON-COMPROMISING RELATIONSHIP WITH YOU.

WE'RE NOT ASKING FOR RELIGIOUS KIDS!  NO!
WE'RE LOOKING FOR A RELATIONSHIP WITH THE LIVING GOD!
LET IT BE!

Use them in Your mission to REACH THE WORLD!  We pray that their gifts and talents would be used to further the gospel, to save souls, to touch lives with The Father's Love. We pray that each of them would have their own dynamic testimony and that they'd share that testimony wherever they go!

We pray that they would live -- not just "good" lives -- but lives that bring GLORY TO YOU!

Have your way, we pray, IN JESUS' NAME!

AMEN.

FRIDAY: Praying for our school aged kids!

Stepping Out in RED Shoes!
 - Day 105 -

LORD... We bring our children before you and ask that you'd watch over them and guide their in their studies.  We pray they would love learning. We pray that they'd love reading!  Grant them a good education LORD.  Bring wonderful teachers and mentors into their life. -- People who will inspire them, challenge them, bring out the best in them!  We pray that you'd keep them from wolves in sheep's clothing.

That said, LORD we pray they'd be eager to learn and soak up all they can about You --Your Ways -- Your Word.  We don't doubt that You have a special plan for each one of them.  Help us to train them in the way in which they should go.  May we provide a good, solid foundation for them.  Help us to parent them, to discipline them when needed, to teach them good manners and proper behaviors.  We pray we would be the Good Example for them to follow.  Help us to accurately reflect You to them.

We recognize, LORD, that we are their best teachers and that learning begins in the home.  Let our home be filled with Godly Love, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Gentleness, Faithfulness, Self-Control.  May it be a place of warmth and safety.  We pray that they would love their family and their home -- that their friends would always feel loved and welcomed as well.

As parents... give us spiritual eyes to see as you see.  Give us divine wisdom.  Help us to keep our children at the top of our priority lists.  Never let us forget that You are but a prayer away and are always there to guide us and them.

We pray that our children will find good friends in life.

Keep our children safe LORD.  Help them avoid temptations.  Deliver them  from evil.  As they get older, keep them safe.  Watch over them.  We pray they would make good choices -- Godly choices.  We pray that we'd always be there for them in time of need -- That we'd be encouragers -- That we'd be loving and understanding, just as You are with us.

In Jesus' Name we come against all the powers and principalities of evil.  We bind them and their deceptions, their trickery, in JESUS Name.  We cast them down at the foot of the cross, and proclaim in advance, TOTAL VICTORY over our children.  We plead the BLOOD OF JESUS over them with our prayers, knowing that our God protects better than we ever could!

THANK YOU LORD for this parental partnership with You on behalf of our kids!

In JESUS' NAME.  Amen.

FRIDAY: Praying for NEW MOMS and thier BABIES

Stepping Out in RED Shoes!
- Day 105 -

First hand, I know of at least six young
mothers who gave birth in the last three weeks.
Let's pray for them today!

Father God, we come together in agreement with these NEW MOMS.  Bless them we pray.  Have your way in their lives.  Reveal Yourself in a deeper way.  Saturate them with Your Spirit and comfort them with Your Word.  Put a joyful song in their hearts that continually flows from their lips.  We pray they would develop into fine mothers, godly women,  teachers and prayer warriors for their children.

We entrust them in Your care.  We pray for them continually.  We pray you'd give us Words of Wisdom, instruction, and encouragement for them, as needed.  Help us to be good examples to them as to what a Godly wife -- mother -- and woman is.  AMEN.

Father... We pray for those babies.  We dedicate them to You, believing that Your eye is continually upon them, and that Your angels are always beside them.  Keep them safe.  Keep them healthy.  Keep them strong.

We come against the principalities and powers of this world,  IN JESUS' NAME.  We plead the Blood of Jesus over our little ones.  We keep them under the cover of our Motherly Prayer Tents.  Cause us, Oh LORD, to continually be in prayer for them.  Compel us to never fall short of that calling!  We pray that we would always turn to You for guidance and direction, on their behalf!  We acknowledge that we need Your help, Father -- we need Your help!

As our children grow,  we pray that they would find You early and continually be found in Your presence.  We trust that Your hand is upon them and that one day, You will call them by name, unto Yourself, just as you did Samuel.  Even now, we pray that their ears would be open to hear the voice of the Lord.  We pray that they will delight in You and follow the call of God upon their lives, in Jesus Name.

Until then... may the love of God be poured upon them in great measure.   Bring wonderful people into their lives-- Family members and friends, ministers and teachers.  We pray that they would be raised faithfully in the ways of God, with the Word of God being a familiar and often used language.

May their lives be filled with love, joy, peace patience, kindness, goodness, faithfullness, gentleness and self-control.  Give them a good education, we pray.  Help them to love learning.  Ultimately we pray that they would fulfill the plan you have for them.  IN JESUS NAME.  AMEN.
